ArcMutate is a mutation testing tool that integrates with your Git workflow to find bugs your tests miss. It extends PiTest, the world's most popular JVM mutation testing framework, with enterprise features for professional teams.

## What is Mutation Testing?

Mutation testing works by making small changes (mutations) to your source code and checking whether your tests detect them. If a test fails, the mutant is "killed" — meaning your tests caught the bug. If no test fails, the mutant "survives" — revealing a gap in your test suite. Research at Google (https://arxiv.org/pdf/2103.07189) found that mutation testing could have caught nearly 3 out of 4 high-priority production bugs before they shipped.
